With over 25 years of progressive technical experience in various industries Ken Johnson oversees over 180 employees in managing the daily operations of SureWest’s Everest brand in its division headquarters of Lenexa Kansas. He began his career at SureWest in 2008 following the close of SureWest’s acquisition of Everest Broadband that same year.
Prior to being promoted to his current role Johnson spent seven years as an executive with ever-increasing positions of responsibility at Everest most recently serving as chief technology officer responsible for all design engineering technical support field operations and construction activity. Prior to joining Everest in 2000 Johnson served as director of network architecture and distributed computing for Aquila an electric and natural gas distribution company. Johnson has also served as telecommunications manager for the Shawnee County Government and as a cryptographic systems engineer with the United States Air Force. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Friends University holds extensive technical certifications and is a certified network engineer. He has sat on various boards throughout his career including Advent Networks from 2003-2006.
