Ken Huhn is Vice President, Industrial Relations of Deere & Company, a position he has held since July 2002. In his position, Huhn is responsible for developing the strategy and tactics for the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements. In addition, he provides leadership in establishing and deploying wage employee motivation and work systems to drive aligned high performance teamwork in Deere's manufacturing operations. Huhn is also involved in other industrial relations activities, including wage administration and wage payment plans, labor law matters, wage hiring, and training and counseling for the effective management of non-represented facilities.
Huhn joined John Deere in 1975, and held positions in Industrial Relations at the Seeding Group, the Harvester Works, and Deere & Company before transferring to the Waterloo Works in 1980 as Industrial Relations Administrator. He was appointed Manager of Industrial Relations for the Waterloo Works in 1987. He transferred to Deere & Company in 1996 as a Senior Division Manager, and subsequently was appointed Director, Industrial Relations in 1999.
Huhn received his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers - The State University of New Jersey School of Law in 1973 and was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 1970. Prior to joining John Deere, Huhn worked at the Industrial Research Unit of the Wharton School of Business, where he co-authored two books, entitled NLRB Regulation of Election Conduct and NLRB Remedies for Unfair Labor Practices. Huhn also serves as the Deere & Company representative on various labor-management committees.
