Ken Wellington - VP, Professional Service Ken Wellington From operations to accounting and sales to purchasing, Vice President, Professional Service Ken Wellington vows to get it right the first time, the mantra of management expert Phil Crosby. Co-founder of Storeroom Solutions, Ken is in charge of quality, whether through work instruction, internal audit, or new product development. Originally a steel worker at an Ohio facility for a major U.S. steel manufacturer, Ken had first-hand exposure to the impact of quality issues on the manufacturing process. Transitioning to production scheduling for the pump and valve division of an underground equipment supplier while completing his education, Ken subsequently worked in management positions for a series of tooling and equipment companies. Broadening his base of experience, Ken became Division Director of Operations for five injection molding plants for a steel manufacturer. Building on his insight into quality control in raw material sourcing, a critical element in steel manufacture, Ken joined a $2 billion raw materials supplier as Corporate Director of Material & Purchasing. Prior to joining SSI, Ken became Manager of Purchasing for a steel mining company and President of an inventory management and distribution company which practiced integrated supply. During this time, Ken also was an adjunct professor of Purchasing and Materials Management at the University of Alabama, Western Michigan. Syracuse University, and Delaware Community College. An author and speaker at industry events, he is past president of the Philadelphia chapter of the ISM, a member of the Board of Directors of the NAPM E-commerce Group, and past president of the APICS chapter of Birmingham, AL. Ken is also a member of the Board and past chairman of the Electronic Supply Management Group. Ken has a B.S. in Industrial Management and an A.B. in Business Management from Youngstown State University of Ohio. He is a Certified Lead Auditor through Perry Johnson, a CPM (Certified Production Manager) through the University of Southwest Michigan, and a CPIM through APICS. < Prev |
