Mr. Lieberman joined Akal in October of 1999 as Branch Manager in Phoenix, Arizona, bringing 27 years of successful security and law-enforcement experience.
In 2002, Ken was promoted to Regional Manager for Arizona. Additionally, he was responsible for startup operations for the Los Angeles County Medical Center contract and 21 health care facilities in Southern California. Under Ken’s capable leadership, Akal operations in Phoenix, Arizona have tripled in size. Contracts include the Arizona State Department of Revenue, the Arizona Historical Society, the City of Phoenix Water Department, the City of Phoenix Emergency Fire Operations Center, the City of Phoenix Public Works Department, the City of Tucson (citywide security services), a federal contract with the Veterans Administration Department, and numerous other contracts for commercial and residential facilities.
Prior to joining Akal, Ken was responsible for General Security for Playboy Enterprises, he coordinated government clearances with the Department of Defense, he organized and managed high-profile escorts, and he was responsible for security at major events, including the Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, Image Awards, and People’s Choice Awards. Additionally, Ken spent four years with the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department as a Crime Prevention Specialist. His responsibilities included educating the public and business community on Crime Prevention Techniques and setting up Neighborhood Watch and Business Watch Programs. |
