Biography As Managing Director of MICG’s Real Estate Capital Advisors, Ken oversees the growth and strategy of the real estate practice, as well as ensuring the that the firm recruits top quality real estate professionals for his practice. He is responsible for relationship development and partnerships with some of the countries top real estate development firms. Through these relationships MICG clients have access to top real estate investment opportunities as well as superior support for 1031 exchanges.Ken is a 1031 exchange and replacement property expert and works with affluent clients on strategies to manage and improve their real estate portfolios. When a client wants to conduct a 1031 exchange they can expect Ken and his team to help them set up an exchange relationship with an MICG trusted partner, develop an investment strategy and find replacement property a turn-key solution for 1031 exchanges large or small.Ken was formerly founder and managing partner of a regional Tax, Accounting and Consulting firm where he worked with the firms clients on real estate investment, 1031 exchange strategies and development opportunities. He also expanded the firms’ financial services practice and was responsible for recruiting hundreds of CPA’s into the securities industry allowing them to expand their practice into financial services.Ken held an executive leadership position with a commercial real estate services firm where he was responsible for working with large banks to develop post merger real estate integration strategies. Ken managed the relationships with Wachovia, Regions Bank, AmSouth, PNC, and served as the Executive Sponsor for the BlackRock/Merrill Lynch Investment Managers merger, a real estate project that spanned 18 countries.Ken is a commercial real estate broker and holds his series 22 and series 63 licenses. He received his Masters in Business Administration from McColl School of Business at Queens College. He resides in Charlotte, North Carolina and Newport News, Virginia. He and his wife, April, have three children Storm, Blue and Haven. |
