Attending Florida State University, Kelly graduated with Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in English Literature and Theology. During her junior year, Kelly spent a semester living and studying in London, England. Upon graduation, she attended Marine Corps Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant. Thus began a twenty-year career as a Marine Corps Officer. Some of her career highlights include Platoon Commander at Quantico Officers Candidate School, Battalion Commander at Recruit Depot Parris Island, and Adjutant for Third Marine Division in Okinawa, Japan. Additionally, Kelly has testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee and also appeared on CNN & Company representing Marine Corps matters. While on active duty, Kelly earned her Masters of Science Degree from Nova University in Psychology. |
