Over a course of nine years, Kellie has provided PR counsel throughout all segments of the travel industry including online travel sites, destinations, luxury resorts and hotels, casinos, cruise lines and the Smithsonian Institution.
As a group manager at Weber Shandwick, Kellie Pelletier managed the public relations campaigns for The Out Islands Of The Bahamas, Kayak.com, Royal Caribbean International and Mission Hills.
Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Kellie was an account supervisor at Nancy J. Friedman Public Relations where she developed strategic public relations programs for Orbitz, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Lucia Tourist Board and the Great Eagle Hotel. Kellie was part of the PR team that propelled Orbitz to the third largest online travel agency within six months of launching. As the head of an aggressive media relations team, Kellie personally made between 50-100 media calls per week, building relationships with the top thought leaders in travel and Internet media. For two years, she pitched monthly media tours and phone interviews with national media and local markets around the country. As a result, Orbitz spokespersons were quoted in travel trend stories in A-list publications such as Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Los Angeles Times and USA Today. Kellie was also the lead on The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park which won HSMAI's 2002 Platinum Award for Excellence for the hotel's grand opening campaign.
Prior to joining NJFPR, Kellie was a senior account executive at Middleton & Gendron Public Relations where she worked on a number of upscale travel accounts including Golden Door Spa, Wyndham El Conquistador, Las Casitas Village, Carmel Valley Ranch, Mohegan Sun Casino and Smith & Wollensky Restaurant Group. Through her work, the Golden Door Spa at Las Casitas Village was positioned among the top resort spas in the world.
Before moving to New York, Kellie worked at Brotman-Winter-Fried Public Relations & Marketing in Washington, D.C. where she managed the firm's largest account, Starbucks Coffee. During her tenure, she opened more than 40 Starbucks stores in the region, managed media outreach, promoted Starbucks drinks and merchandise and launched new products.
Kellie started her career with the Smithsonian Institution's Central Office of Public Affairs, where she worked on the Folklife Festival first as an intern and then as a public affairs assistant. At only 24, Kellie was named the public affairs specialist for the Smithsonian's National Postal Museum.
Kellie received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Georgia. When she's not at work, Kellie enjoys watching Georgia football, reading travel magazines and planning trips to destinations around the world. |
