Dr. Collins has been involved in medical informatics for over 20 years with a vast array of experience in both the academic and corporate arenas. In the academic arena, he served as a faculty member, Director of Clinical Computing, and eventually the acting Chief Information Officer at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. In the corporate arena Dr. Collins served as the Corporate Medical Director and Regional CEO at Healthsource (NYSE Public company eventually acquired by Cigna). Throughout his career he has successfully implemented enterprise data warehouses in multiple healthcare organizations. Under his guidance healthcare organizations have grown to become market leaders through the understanding of their data. Dr. Collins received a B.S degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) with a strong background in computer science and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. |
