Keith Collins, M.D. is a Board-Certified Internist who has founded, built, and managed a number of successful health care organizations. He began his medical career as a primary care physician, and was a member of the faculty at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He eventually became the Associate Chief of the Medical Staff at UMMS, and was for a time Interim Chief Information Officer for the UMass medical campus.After leaving academia, Dr. Collins held a number of senior administrative positions at Healthsource, Inc., a large, multi-state, publicly traded HMO listed on the New York Stock Exchange. In 1997, while he was Vice President and Regional CEO for New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut at Healthsource, the company was acquired by Cigna Healthcare. Dr. Collins subsequently became the founder of several successful health care companies, including HealthExcel, a Management Services Organization for primary care physicians; DataLoom, a medical software company; and PhyTrust, a medical management company which contracts with state Medicaid programs in the Southeastern United States. |
