Our Facilities Maintenance Department is known for keeping our buildings and grounds looking great, but they are also known for working well with other departments. An example of this was when one of our therapy patients was unable to bend his elbows, making it impossible to feed himself.
Outpatient Therapy ordered special utensils for him to use, but they were still not long enough. When one of the therapists discussed the issue with Keith, he knew just what to do. Keith quickly went to the workshop and attached the utensils to PVC pipe with epoxy and sanded round edges, safely providing the utensils with the length needed for the patient to feed himself independently.
All around the hospital, Keith is known for his helpful attitude and quick response time, but he also demonstrates how when we work together, we can make great things happen. |
