Keith E. Darin is a Director in the Valuation & Financial Opinions Group. His concentration is in real estate valuation and consulting. He is licensed as a certified general real estate appraiser in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Minnesota, Florida, Arizona, and Nevada. Mr. Darin s real estate valuation and consulting experience includes assignments completed for local, national, and international clients for a variety of purposes including financing, sale / leaseback transactions, estate and gift taxation, purchase and sale advisement, joint venture advisement, ad valorem taxation, marital dissolution, bankruptcy proceedings, litigation, condemnation, zoning and land use disputes, property insurance placement purposes, purchase price allocation (SFAS 141), long-lived asset impairment testing (SFAS 144), and financial reporting for pension fund requirements. Mr. Darin has appraised numerous property types including multi-family complexes, office, industrial, retail, health care, hospitality, vacant land, residential subdivision developments, residential condominium developments, automobile assembly plants, self-storage facilities, manufactured housing communities, automobile dealerships, restaurants, gasoline stations / convenience stores, churches, and ice rinks. Mr. Darin has also completed feasibility and marketability studies, market analyses, highest and best use studies, and market rental rate determinations. In addition to real estate valuation and consulting, Mr. Darin also has experience in business valuation for a variety of purposes including financing, estate and gift taxation, Subchapter C to Subchapter S conversions, and shareholder disputes. Mr. Darin earned a BA in Finance from Michigan State University. He is a member of the Appraisal Institute with the MAI designation. Mr. Darin is also a member of the Chicago Real Estate Council. |
