Mr. Pickavance is an architect with construction management experience. He specializes in the management of time related risks and in the analysis of delay and disruption. As an expert he has been appointed on over 400 occasions in a broad variety of cases involving such diverse projects as housing, shipping, IT supply, oil and gas, road rail and air transport, multi-storey buildings, power generation plants, hospitals, commercial and industrial buildings, petro-chemical and other process plants.
He has given evidence in a broad variety of civil courts in both domestic and international tribunals on more than 20 occasions over a period of 30 years as a testifying expert and has sat as an arbitrator, adjudicator or mediator on over 80 occasions.
Mr Pickavance is the author of 'Delay and Disruption in Construction Contracts' (3rd Ed. 2005) LLP Ltd., and has had numerous articles published in leading technical and legal journals. He regularly contributes papers on delay and disruption related issues to conferences and is considered to be one of the leading authorities on this subject.
His academic qualifications include a Diploma In Architecture, and an honors degree of Bachelor of Laws. He is currently a Fellow of the British Academy of Experts, a Founding Member of the Expert Witness Institute, an International Associate of the American Bar Association, a Member of the Project Management Institute and an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
Mr Pickavance's honorary appointments include service on the Architects Registration Council of the UK, membership of the drafting committee of the SCL Delay and Disruption Protocol and is currently Junior Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Building. |
