Keisuke Yawata has served as a Director since October 1999 as a member and the chairman of the audit committee since August 2000 and July 2001 respectively and as a Class III Director since June 2001. Mr. Yawata has been a partner and director of Start-up101 a venture capital firm since 1999 and is the chief executive officer of The Future International a consulting firm he founded in 1997. From 1995 to 1997 he was the president and chief executive officer of Applied Materials Japan and a senior vice president of Applied Materials Inc. From 1985 to 1994 he was at LSI Logic KK serving as president and chief executive officer from 1985 to 1992 and as chairman of the board from 1993 to 1994. From 1958 to 1984 he was employed by NEC Corporation and its subsidiaries where he held various positions the last position being president and chief executive officer of NEC Electronics Inc. from 1981 to 1984. He received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Osaka University in Osaka Japan and a master of science degree in electrical engineering from Syracuse University.
