Current responsibility
Since joining Milliman’s Tokyo office in April 1999, Kobayashi has been responsible for providing actuarial contribution calculations pertaining to demutualization, actuarial appraisal valuations for mergers and acquisitions and embedded value projections, and various experience assumptions and associated experience studies.
Kobayashi, one of the core members of the Japan Actuarial Software Consulting practice at the Tokyo office, has also developed several actuarial projection systems.
Experience
Kobayashi has contributed to Milliman’s many assignments in liability modeling for life insurers. He has been actively involved in projection work, including actuarial contribution calculations for demutualization, liability projections on both a statutory and a U.S. GAAP basis, and corporate modeling for actuarial appraisal valuation. He also has considerable experience in due diligence support for mergers and acquisitions.
His professional work includes a variety of experience studies on mortality, morbidity, lapse, and surrender. These experience studies have been incorporated in Milliman’s appraisal and embedded value reports for many life insurers.
