Kathleen Sparrow is a Psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry at Kennedy Krieger Institute. She is also an Instructor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavior Sciences.
Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Sparrow graduated from Kalamazoo College with a BA in Psychology and Health Sciences in 1984. She continued her education at Antioch/New England Graduate School where she received a Masters in Education in Guidance and Counseling in 1986 and she received her Doctorate from Florida State University in Counseling Psychology in 1997.
Dr. Sparrow joined Kennedy Krieger Institute in 1997 for her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry and has continued at Kennedy Krieger since then as a Psychologist. She is a member of the Maryland Psychological Association and is a licensed Psychologist in both Maryland and Virginia. Dr. Sparrow also is a Consulting Psychologist at St. Elizabeth School.
Research Summary:
Dr. Sparrow concentrates her research on stress and family functioning in children with psychiatric disorders. She is currently involved in a research study comparing the functioning of families of children with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder as compared to families with children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and control families.
Dr. Sparrow is also interested in attribution, child depression and anxiety. |
