Kathleen M. McCabe is a partner in the firm's Chicago office. She specializes in civil litigation and has extensive trial experience. She is engaged in the practice of civil litigation in the areas of product liability, construction, professional malpractice, general liability and commercial matters. Ms. McCabe’s product liability expertise includes environmental and mass tort claims. She has tried several cases in federal and state courts as first chair to verdict. Ms. McCabe has also litigated and tried commercial disputes involving breach of contract and fraud matters. Further, she has represented clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Department of Human Rights, the City of Chicago's commission of Human Relations and the Illinois Court of Claims. She has also handled litigation in other states including Indiana, Missouri and Michigan. In addition to representing clients at trial, Ms. McCabe has been hired by clients to oversee litigation being handled by other attorneys. Before joining Cassiday, Schade LLP in 1994, Ms. McCabe served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Illinois Attorney General and as counsel for the Chicago Park District. Ms. McCabe has served as an arbitrator for the Circuit Court of Cook County, the Better Business Bureau and as a certified mediator for the Center for Conflict Resolution. Professional Affiliations: She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She frequently makes presentations to clients and other organizations. Ms. McCabe is President of the Smith Park Advisory Council. She has previously served on the Chicago Bar Associations' Judicial Evaluation Committee and on the Board of Directors for Rainbow House.
