Current responsibility
Kathie is an actuary with the Hartford, Conn., office of Milliman. She joined the firm in 1993.
Experience
Kathie's area of expertise is in health care. She has worked with insurers, HMOs, employers, and government entities. Her responsibilities for these clients include plan design, pricing, liability estimation, experience analysis, and actuarial projections. She works with state high risk pools and small employer health reinsurance programs, developing pricing and reserve estimates as well as advising on plan design.
Kathie also works with captive and risk-retention-group (RRG) clients. She has experience with both the independent fiduciary and actuarial services, including feasibility studies and liability estimates, for employers reinsuring their employee benefits programs in captives. Most recently, she worked with employers to develop RRG programs for their health care benefit programs. She has written several articles on employee benefits in captives and RRGs.
