Katherine Jen founded AsiaTech Ventures in 1997, where she is currently Managing Partner. She was a pioneer in the Taiwan venture business and played a key role in setting up the first six venture funds. She also helped start the successful semiconductor industry in Taiwan. Katherine was instrumental in the inception and early stages of the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the world's leading semiconductor foundry, and continues to be heavily involved with the company's strategic decisions.
She was the Director and Deputy Executive Secretary of the Development Fund of the Taiwanese government for 7 years. In the late 1980s, Katherine served as a member of Board of Director of TSMC. She also worked closely with major banks in Taiwan and served as a board member of the International Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). Currently Katherine sits on the board of NetScreen Technologies, Inc. and a number of private companies. With her extensive business experience and strong working relationships with prominent business leaders, Katherine is well positioned to help start-up companies achieve their growth objectives.
