Kate is senior Vice President, Americas Human Resources and Talent Development & Learning, for InterContinental Hotels Group PLC.
In her current capacity, Kate oversees human resources for the Americas region of IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group). Her responsibilities include directing the human resources, benefits, compensation, recruitment and employee and franchisee training functions of the Americas division.
Prior to her current position, Kate oversaw the region’s corporate communications, public relations, community affairs, facilities and corporate affairs functions as well as human resources. Her service with IHG spans nearly 15 years. She joined the company in 1991 as Attorney and later served as Managing Attorney and then Associate General Counsel. In these positions, Kate provided legal advice and services to the Human Resources and Franchising departments of the company, as well as to the Information Technology, Purchasing, Marketing and Reservations departments.
Prior to joining IHG, Kate served as Associate Attorney in the law firm of Trotter, Smith & Jacobs. Her varied work background also includes positions as Manager of Market Planning for the international consulting subsidiary of The Southern Company, and as a professional staff member for the U.S. Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, a joint U.S. congress-executive panel on international relations.
Kate graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University and a law degree from Duke University. She also attended the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, the Georgia Bar Association and the American Bar Association Forum on Franchising and Labor and Employment Law Section. |
