When Kate Cotter isn't writing, or consuming every media available, or traveling to places like Iceland or Turkey, she is overjoyed to be a producer for the FableVision team. It was inevitable that Kate would come to work in children's media, given she watched too much TV, played too much Space Invaders, and wore out her Little House books as a kid. With a background in media, literature, and digital arts, Kate always had a focus on writing and children. She has won numerous awards for her short stories and plays, some specifically written for kids. After working in early and elementary childhood education for a number of years, most recently Kate has been managing curriculum-based interactive games and animations for children from preschool age through middle school, and is extremely happy that she has now worked with one of her personal childhood crushes: Grover. Kate combines her deep understanding of young children with her knowledge of interactive media to produce fresh and innovative ways to engage and communicate with maturing audiences. Kate earned a B.A in Contemporary American Culture from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and earned an M.A in Media Arts; New Media, from Emerson College in Boston. An avid and accomplished equestrian, Kate spends as much time as possible horseback riding and teaching riding lessons. And she still watches too much TV. |
