Kate, an associate in the Baton Rouge office, graduated from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 2004, earning her J.D. and Bachelor of Civil Law Studies. During law school, Kate was the recipient of the Award for the Highest Class Standing in Advanced Appellate Advocacy. Additionally, she was named to the Chancellor's list, and was elected to serve as both the President of her class and as the Executive Vice President of the Student Bar Association. Prior to joining the firm, from August 2004 to 2005, Kate clerked for the Honorable James J. Brady, United States District Judge for the Middle District of Louisiana. Immediately following her clerkship, Kate practiced law in Lafayette, Louisiana, primarily focusing on commercial litigation. A member of the Louisiana Bar since 2004, Kate is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Louisiana. Her practice centers on general business litigation and oil and gas litigation, as well as oil and gas property title examination. Kate is a member of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association, the American Association of Petroleum Landmen, and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Baton Rouge Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. |
