Mr. Ghanbari co-founded Panacea, serving as Chief Operating Officer and then President through 2004. Currently, he is Chairman and CEO of VEI Studios, Inc., a multi-media development company.
He has spent the last ten years forming and building technology-driven companies and has gained considerable experience in technology assessment and licensing, diagnostic and therapeutic product development, strategic planning, and general corporate operations.
Prior to Panacea, he contributed significantly in starting Nymox Pharmaceutical Corporation (NASDAQ: NYMX) in Montreal, Quebec. At Nymox, he served as Project Leader for Alzheimer's Diagnostic Development, responsible for developing the AD7C test, an Alzheimer's Disease diagnostic test currently marketed throughout the world. As Director of Laboratory & Technical Operations, he established the U.S. Operations of Nymox in Rockville, Maryland, housing the majority of the Company's R&D activities as well as a CLIA-certified Clinical Reference Laboratory commercializing specialty diagnostic tests, for which he served as Scientific & Technical Director.
Prior to Nymox, he was a Research Assistant at Molecular Geriatrics Corporation in Lake Bluff, Illinois, utilizing state-of-the-art proteomic techniques to identify disease-relevant proteins as potential drug targets and biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's disease.
Mr. Ghanbari has published more than 30 scientific publications and abstracts. He attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana studying Biology and Philosophy of Religion. |
