Dr. Benson obtained her degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Colorado State University where she focused on understanding transcription of the Human T-cell Leukemia Virus Type-1 a virus known to cause cancer. More specifically she expanded the current in vitro system to evaluate how the virus makes RNA when its genome is highly condensed and packaged into chromatin providing insight important for developing treatments. Dr. Benson’s knowledge of in vitro transcription systems led her to a research scientist position at Ribomed Biotechnologies Inc. where she expanded her biochemical techniques to include analytical chemistry and assay development. She has recent laboratory experience that includes knowledge of cell culture protein purification radiation and DNA/RNA manipulations as well as four years of teaching and laboratory management experience. Her mix of research and human resource skills provide a basis for her direction of ImmuneRegen's scientific developmental efforts. Dr. Benson joined ImmuneRegen in May 2007.
