Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, Nebraska, January 1999-May 2002
Post-Doctoral Fellow. Employed molecular biological, contractile, and electrophysiological techniques to determine the role of potassium channels in uterine contractility. Trained and assisted graduate and undergraduate students with their research projects. Attended and presented at a number of national scientific meetings. Expert witness for Council Bluffs Public Defenders Office.
University of Nevada School of Medicine, Reno, Nevada, May 1996-December 1998
Post-Doctoral Fellow. Obtained an American Heart Association Post-Doctoral Fellowship Grant. Employed molecular biological techniques to identify and clone various types of potassium channels from vascular smooth muscle cells while electrophysiological and pharmacological studies were performed to determine the pharmacological and electrophysiological properties of the cloned channels and to evaluate the effect of second messengers on channel activity. Attended and presented at a number of scientific meetings.
University of Nevada, Reno, Reno, Nevada, August 1992- May 1996
Research Doctoral Fellow. Utilized organ bath systems as well as biochemical analyses to investigate the role of nitric oxide in the regulation of human uterine smooth muscle. Attended meetings.
