Karla assists clients with all aspects of business litigation, focusing particularly on disputes over real estate and land use. Her experience includes matters involving title defects, lien priority disputes, boundary disputes, easements and licenses, mortgage and property tax forfeitures, and mechanic’s liens. In addition, she litigates for and advises clients on a variety of general business issues, including breach-of-contract disputes, tort liability, employment, and manufacturer and distributor relationships.Karla, who joined Lindquist & Vennum as an associate in 2006, served as the symposium articles editor for the Minnesota Law Review during her final year of law school. In that role, she planned and helped stage a major academic conference which involved top legal scholars from around the country on the topic of the future of the United States Supreme Court. Karla is strongly committed to pro bono work. While pursuing her J.D., she served as an intern at Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights, where she successfully prepared the political asylum case for a family from Kenya. She also served as a legal intern with Minnesota AIDS Project in 2006. |
