Karl is a partner and serves as chair of the intellectual property section of the business law department. His practice includes all aspects of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, unfair competition, and related litigation. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Representative Matters
Prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patents in a diverse range of technologies, with a particular emphasis in the mechanical engineering arts.
Registered and maintained hundreds of trademarks and service marks for companies in a broad spectrum of industries.
Negotiated numerous licensing agreements involving patented and trade secret technology, software and information technology, copyrighted works, trademarks and service marks, including a number of franchise agreements.
