Karina B. Sterman is a partner in the Litigation and Employment Law Departments of ECJ. Ms. Sterman's practice and litigation focuses on the representation of employers in all types of employment related matters, including counseling on wage and hour and other employment law compliance, drafting employment policies, contracts and other employment related documents, as well as representing employers in litigation and in administrative proceedings.
Ms. Sterman has presented to various prestigious organizations and her seminar topics include: Exempt v. Non-Exempt Employee Audits for the Professionals In Human Resources Association (PIHRA); Employment Law Essentials for the Small Business Owner for the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE); Nuts and Bolts of Employment Law for the Los Angeles County Bar Association; The Changing World of Employment Benefits and Legal Updates sponsored by ADP for Venbrook Risk Management & Insurance Services; Understanding the Paid Family Leave Act for the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce; and The Hiring Process for The Retail Council.
Ms. Sterman is a member of the California and Los Angeles County (LACBA) Bar Associations. She has also served as an appointed member of the Executive Committee of the LACBA Barristers, as a program coordinator for the annual LACBA Nuts and Bolts of Civil Litigation series, as an elected member on the Board of Governors of the California Women Lawyers representing California's District 7: Los Angeles, and as a volunteer for the Los Angeles County Domestic Violence Project.
Ms. Sterman has been named a Rising Star in the field of Employment Law by Los Angeles magazine for four years in a row.
