Ms. Eastham has served as a director since September 2005 and serves as the chair of our Audit Committee. She has over 25 years experience in financial and operations management, primarily in life sciences companies. She currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Burnham Institute for Medical Research, a non-profit corporation engaged in basic biomedical research and the home to three research centers a Cancer Center, the Del E. Webb Center for Neuroscience and Aging and a Center for Research on Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases. From April 1999 to May 2004, Ms. Eastham served as Senior Vice President, Finance, Chief Financial Officer, and Secretary of Diversa Corporation. She previously held similar positions with CombiChem, Inc., a computational chemistry company, and Cytel Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company. Ms. Eastham also held several positions, including Vice President, Finance, at Boehringer Mannheim Corporation, from 1976 to 1988. Ms. Eastham also serves as a director for Tercica, Inc., Illumina, Inc., and SGX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Ms. Eastham received a B.S. and an M.B.A. from Indiana University and is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Director. |
