Professional Education and Background Dr. Armstrong obtained her Medical Degree from the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her internship, Internal Medicine residency, and a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Boston University Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.Dr. Armstrong served as a Teaching Associate in the Department of Internal Medicine at Boston University Medical Center from 2000-2003, and was named Acting Chief Medical Resident in the Department of Internal Medicine. She was also a Clinical Instructor of Oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York.Prior to coming to Minnesota, Dr. Armstrong enjoyed an active practice of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the Lipson Cancer Center in Rochester, New York where she treated a broad spectrum of hematologic and oncologic diseases. She also has a background in autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation.Dr. Armstrong is first author on several articles published in professional journals, with the most recent in the Journal of Bone Marrow Transplantation, September of 2006. In April of 2007 she participated as a speaker in the 4th Annual Cindy L. Dertinger Memorial Seminar on "Advanced Breast Cancer: Tools for the Journey" which was sponsored by the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester, New York. Her presentation title was "Management of Symptoms and Side Effects of Breast Cancer Therapy."Certifications and Professional Affiliations Dr. Armstrong is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. She is board eligible in Hematology. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.PersonalDr. Armstrong and her husband recently moved to the Twin Cities to be closer to family.
