Prior to joining IGI, Karen was the Director of NEIC (National Electronic Information Corporation). She has been a Technical liaison between CareInsite and Empire, GHI, HIP and Horizon. She is a former member of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI X12), WEDI and AFHECT. She authored an AFEHCT White Paper used as input to the HIPAA process.
She has been an active member, until 1990, of the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) technical work group responsible for creating the National Standard Format (NSF) for the physician claim and remittance formats. Karen has been an active speaker at two national health care conferences: HIAA & California Managed Care Forum.
