Karen Magee serves as PlanetOut Inc.’s chief executive officer. With more than 20 years experience in the media industry Karen most recently served as senior vice president of strategic planning for Time Warner where she oversaw the company’s strategic planning group providing management consulting and business development services to both corporate senior management and the divisions of Time Warner. In her 21 years at Time Warner and its subsidiary companies and brands she held a number of key management positions including serving as vice president for Time Inc. where she was responsible for developing the company’s long-term strategy; driving the company’s merger and acquisitions agenda in the United States and internationally; spearheading cross-company profit improvement and idea-sharing initiatives; and providing management consulting services to the company’s various business units. Prior to that she served as general manager and vice president of consumer marketing with TIME Magazine.
Karen sits on the Princeton University Board of Trustees and previously served as co-chair of The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) board of directors. She holds a B.S.E. from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. |
