Karen DiEugenio has spent the past two football seasons covering the "tailgating beat" for YourTailgateParty.com. In more than eight months on the road, she has taken more than 10,000 photos of tailgate parties across the country which she posts, along with weekly articles and updates from the Tour, on the website. Her first book, I Got Your Tailgate Party Right Here! The Best of the NFL: NFC Edition was published in June 2006, and the AFC edition is due out Spring 2007.
Karen's favorite part of any tailgate is running into Camp Chef fans in the lot. She always makes a point of asking them how they like their Camp Chef grills and accessories, and every time they are happy to tell her how much they use and abuse their equipment week after week, all season long. She also loves introducing them to new products they haven't tried. The Turkey Cannons and Keg Roasters always get a raised eye.
And though Jay does most of the cooking during the Tour, Karen has become a passionate cast iron convert. She's obsessive about care of her collection, and lives by the credo "anything tastes better in cast iron." Her pot of Navy Bean Soup she made at a Navy-vs-Notre Dame tailgate nearly brought the Middies to tears. "THIS is WAY better than the stuff they feed us!"
