With more than 20 years of experience in engineering and software development leadership, Karen Casella joined SHOP.COM in 2005 as vice president of site development, responsible for developing SHOP.COM online marketplaces.Most recently, Casella served as director of Application Architecture at eBay, Inc. During her 11-year tenure with Sun Microsystems, Casella was instrumental in driving the company's e-commerce solutions and evolving its web services technology solutions. A well-respected technologist, Casella has published several articles and papers in the areas of Network Security, Web Services and e-commerce technologies and is a frequent speaker at industry events. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
