Karen Bonner joined CHRISTUS Spohn Health System in May 2006. Ms. Bonner is responsible for all fundraising activities and volunteers for CHRISTUS Spohn Health System and the day-to-day activities of the CHRISTUS Spohn Health System Foundation. Prior to joining CHRISTUS Spohn, Ms. Bonner owned her own fund raising company. She served as counsel for many large capital and endowment campaigns including the King Ranch Institute for Ranch Management at Texas A&M-Kingsville, The Harvey Weil /Sportsman Conservationist Award Trust, South Texas Public Broadcasting System, Inc. (KEDT), The Texas Public Broadcasting Association, The Wildlife Society, the USS Lexington Museum on the Bay and Gladys Porter Zoo. She served two terms on the Governor’s Commission for Women as a Commissioner on health care issues. She currently serves on the Texas Cancer Council and is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFT). She and her husband Richard Bonner have three grown children and three grandchildren. Karen is a graduate of the University of Texas Austin.
