Ms. Spaun initially joined Meadowbrook in 1998, as Director of Investor Relations, and went on to hold the position of Vice President of Finance & Acounting. In May of 2002, she was named Senior Vice President, and Chief Accounting Officer. In May of 2003, she was named Chief Financial Officer.
Ms. Spaun began her professional career at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) as an auditor. She later held the position of Director of Financial Accounting at Citizens Insurance Company of America, where she specialized in financial reporting, including both SEC and statutory reporting. Prior to joining Meadowbrook, Ms. Spaun was Controller at First Mercury Financial Corporation.
Ms. Spaun is a former president of the Michigan Chapter of NIRI (National Investor Relations Institute).
She is a graduate of Ohio University (BBA, 1986; major-accounting), where she attended on a swimming scholarship. Ms.Spaun is a former secretary of accounting honor society Beta Alpha PSI, and a former member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.
