Karen has worked in the electric utility industry for 25 years. In 1990, she joined Tampa Electric as an engineer in the Marketing Department, and her various roles at TECO include Distribution Engineering, Telecommunications and Information Technology.
Karen currently leads a team of technical professionals responsible for TECO Energy's corporate computing systems.

Board member and Technology Strategy Committee Chair for the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay
2002-2003 Chair of the Hillsborough Community College Foundation Board
2002 President of the Tampa Electric Federal Political Action Committee (PAC) Board
Recipient of "40 Under 40" Award in 2000, which recognized 40 Tampa Bay community achievers
2000 Chair of TECO Energy's United Way Campaign
Recipient of the first-ever 1999 Woman of Color in Technology "Chairman's Award," recognizing the achievements of the nation's top minority engineers, scientists and technologists
