Karen G. DelPonte chairs the firm’s estate planning group and has been a Partner in the firm since joining it in 1996. Her practice emphasizes the individual and business client, particularly with respect to succession planning. Ms. DelPonte counsels clients as to the reduction or elimination of estate and gift taxes, as well as on matters involving life insurance, asset protection and family limited partnerships. Prior to joining the firm, she was a partner at Edwards & Angell, LLP, Providence. Ms. DelPonte received her B.A. from Wellesley College (Phi Beta Kappa) and is a 1983 magna cum laude J.D. recipient from Boston College Law School, where she was a member of the Boston College International and Comparative Law Review. Ms. DelPonte is a popular and active instructor at continuing legal education seminars. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Rhode Island Bar Association. She is very active in community affairs, serving as a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Joseph Health Services, the Rhode Island Historical Society, and the Rhode Island Estate Planning Council. |
