Karen Samman is a shareholder in the San Ramon Office and co-chair of the firm's Special Education Practice Group. Her practice areas include special education and litigation. Ms. Samman's career began in the classroom, teaching students in the first, fifth, and ninth grades. After becoming an attorney, she worked as an Assistant Attorney General of Children and Youth Services for the State of Michigan. She was assigned to a courtroom handling all trials for temporary and permanent custody of children who had been abused or neglected. Before joining the firm, Ms. Samman served as Assistant District Counsel for the U.S. Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service, in San Francisco.
Ms. Samman received her law degree from Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University in 1998. She earned a B.A. from Ohio State University in 1987. She was admitted to the Michigan State Bar in 1998 and the California State Bar in 2001. |
