Karen Rich is an attorney in the firm's Health Care Law, Employment Law and Insurance and Casualty Litigation Practice Groups. Ms. Rich's practice includes professional liability, wrongful termination, negligence, and estate planning. Practicing law since 1997, Ms. Rich was previously an attorney with McCumber, Inclan, Daniels, Valdez, Buntz & Ferrera, P.A. in Tampa, Florida where she practiced nursing home defense. Prior to joining McCumber, Inclan, et al., Ms. Rich was an attorney at Quintairos, McCumber, Prieto & Wood, P.A., in Tampa, Florida where she concentrated on nursing home defense. Prior to joining Quintairos McCumber, et al., Ms. Rich was an attorney at Cole, Scott & Kissane, P.A. where she defended nursing homes, physicians, ophthalmologists, real estate agents, and other professionals. She also defended general liability cases such as slip and falls and automobile collisions. Prior to joining Cole, Scott & Kissane, Ms. Rich was an Assistant State Attorney in both Hillsborough and Polk County where she prosecuted approximately fifty jury trials to conclusion. Ms. Rich is licensed to practice in all Florida State Courts, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and all Massachusetts State Courts. Through her membership with the Hillsborough County Bar Association, she is a member of the Elder Law Division, Health Law Division, and the Young Lawyers Division. She is also a member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association. Ms. Rich received her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in Boston. While attending Suffolk Law School, Ms. Rich clerked at Swartz & Swartz, a national law firm focusing on product liability and known for dangerous toy litigation. She also received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with minors in psychology and philosophy from Westfield State College. |
