Karen A. Lobdell is a global trade and supply chain specialist and licensed customs broker.
Prior to joining the firm, Karen served for more than 21 years in the domestic and international logistics industry. During that time she held numerous management positions in the areas of operations, international sales & marketing and trade compliance.
Karen's focus for the past 14 years has been international sales management and trade compliance. Her responsibilities included expanding the customer base in all global markets by assisting companies with maximizing the efficiency of their supply chains and containing costs to enhance their overall business performance. Other responsibilities included training and development for international market services. Over the past six years she has been directly involved with homeland security processes as they apply to both internal and external supply chain security concerns focusing directly on government regulations, policies and initiatives that affect customers operating in the global markets.
Karen has designed and presented numerous client seminars/workshops on topics that include C-TPAT, FAST, PIP, CSI, AES, FDA/BTA, & the WCO SAFE Framework. She is a current member of the Trade Support Network (TSN), serving on the Supply Chain Security Committee, Commercial Shipment Information Subcommittee, as well as the International Trade Data System (ITDS) Committee.
Karen is a licensed U.S. Customs broker and holds a certification in project management from Loyola University. She graduated from Bowling Green State University with a business degree, majoring in international business. Her studies included a summer European business program at Ecole Superieure de Commerce in Nantes, France.
Karen resides in Chicago and is a member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and member of the board of directors of the Chicago Chapter of the Organization of Women in International Trade. She is also a member of the board of directors for Cabrini Connections/Tutor Mentor Connection, an inner city youth mentoring program. |
