Dr. Hosseini joined InSite Vision in February 2008 as Vice President Clinical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer. Prior to InSite he most recently served as an ophthalmic expert at JGB BioPharma consulting for R&D preclinical clinical and business development projects. Before joining JGB he participated in multiple drug delivery programs and was a resident expert in the ocular drug delivery program at Alza Corporation a member of the Johnson and Johnson Family of Companies where he provided ophthalmology and visual science expertise for new technology assessment activities aimed at enhancing the drug/device unit pipeline. Prior to joining Alza Dr. Hosseini spent more than six years in academic research. He is the author or co-author of more than 25 scientific papers and oral presentations and posters and was a member of teams that applied for eight ocular and trans-dermal drug delivery patents.
Dr. Hosseini received his M.D. from the University of Groningen Faculty of Medicine The Netherlands; and his Ph.D. as part of a joint program at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and the University of Maastricht The Netherlands. He was a post doctoral fellow in retinal degenerative diseases at the University of California San Francisco. |
