Justin Coombs joined LECG in 2004 and is based in the London office. He was formerly with the Office of Fair Trading as the Director responsible for enforcing UK, and latterly EC, anti-trust law in the service sector of the UK economy. Justin has over 13 years experience as an applied economist working in the fields of competition law and economic regulation.
Justin Coombs joined the Office of Fair Trading as an economist in 1991, where he provided economic advice on the application of competition law to a wide range of sectors. He also helped prepare the OFT for the introduction of the 1998 Competition Act and drafted many of the OFT’s guidelines on UK competition law. In 1999 he joined the Office of Gas Supply (now the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets) as the Director responsible for regulation of gas and electricity transmission network. He rejoined the OFT in 2001 as the director responsible for enforcing UK, and latterly EC, anti-trust law in the service sector of the UK economy. |
