Jürgen Schrempp was appointed to the board in 1997. He is also chairman of the management board of Daimler-Chrysler AG and of the supervisory board of Daimler-Chrysler South Africa. Prior to this, he was chairman of the board of Daimler-Benz AG. Mr Schrempp is a director of several other companies, including Allianz AG and Vodafone Group plc.
Mr Schrempp holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He is a member of the international council of JP Morgan Chase and the advisory council of Deutsche Bank AG, as well as a member of the South African President's International Advisory Council.
