Jung Woo Sung is a Vice President in the Asia Growth Capital Group. He is based in Seoul.
Prior to joining Carlyle in 2006, Mr. Sung was a Principal at SOFTBANK Asia Infrastructure Fund (SAIF), where he focused on investments in the telecom, media, technology and business services sectors and closed six transactions. Mr. Sung led SAIF’s investment in WiderThan Co., Ltd. (NASDAQ: WTHN), a leading provider of mobile entertainment solutions for global wireless carriers, and was a member of the company’s board of directors. Previously, Mr. Sung was a co-founder of La Jolla Investment and held various positions within Tong Yang Group, a leading financial conglomerate in Korea.
Mr. Sung received his B.A. in economics from The University of Chicago. |
