Sister June Ketterer, SGM, was elected to the CHP Corporate Member and board of trustees in 2007. From 1995 1996, she also served on the Corporate Member and board of trustees of CHP (then called Mercy Health System), and from 1996 - 2000, she chaired the system’s Sponsors’ Council.
Currently, Sister June is director, Spirituality and Leadership Formation, for Covenant Health Systems. Previously, she held the position of vice president, Mission and Values Integration, for St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio (a CHP facility). Earlier in her career, she served St. Vincent as supervisor of Pediatrics and then of Obstetrics and later became division chair of Psychiatric Services. She also served at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, N.H. as vice president, Mission Effectiveness. Sister June began her healthcare career as a staff nurse in Psychiatry at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Brighton, Mass.
Sister June was assistant provincial (from 1974 - 1980) and provincial superior (from 1980 - 1986 and 1995 - 2001) for St. Joseph Province, Sisters of Charity of Montreal (Grey Nuns). In addition, she has served on the boards of a wide array of organizations, including St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center Foundation (part of CHP’s northern region); Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund Committee; Lagrange Development Corporation; Catholic Charities of Toledo; Mareda Low Income House, Inc.; and Congregational Nurse Project of Northwest Ohio, whose board she chaired in 2004. Currently, she serves on the board of Mercy College of Northwest Ohio.
Sister June earned an R.N. degree from St. Peter’s Hospital School of Nursing and a bachelor’s of science in nursing from Boston College. She earned a master’s of science in psychiatric and mental health nursing from The Catholic University of America. Later, she spent a sabbatical year at Ecole France Langue in Paris, France. She received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Siena Heights College and was also awarded the college’s Siena Medal for Christian and Social Commitment. |
