Julien joined DDD in September 2000 as Director of Research and was promoted to Chief Technology Officer in October 2004. Julien has been responsible for much of the innovative image analysis and research work that forms the basis for the Group’s off-line and real-time 2D-to-3D image conversion technologies. Prior to joining DDD, Julien was employed as a Research Scientist at the Australian Commonwealth Science and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) and was seconded for three years to the World Geoscience Corporation where he focused on the commercialization of cutting-edge data analysis algorithms for the mineral exploration industry. Julien has a degree in Computer Science from Leeds University, England and earned his Ph.D. from Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia in 1995, the focus of which was the application of image processing and computer vision techniques to the analysis of remotely sensed images. |
