Judy Elchin is the owner of Elchin and Associates, a design firm that specializes in producing marketing, sales support materials, and collateral pieces for corporations and other organizations. Projects range from annual reports, capability and recruiting brochures, conference kits, corporate identity programs, newsletters, product logos and literature, packaging, posters, sales training aids such as games and learning maps, and graphics for tradeshows, exhibits, and events. Besides being active in the design and production of projects, Judy’s responsibilities include all phases of running a small business and maintaining client contacts. Knowledge of typography and computer literacy is extensive.
Prior to forming Elchin and Associates, from 1982 to 1985, Judy was art director for Chase Econometrics/Interactive Data Corporation, a subsidiary of Chase Manhattan Bank, N.A. There, in addition to her involvement with the corporate identity program which took her to Boston several days a month, she managed the design department to produce all marketing and client support materials, direct mail and promotional materials, and software product literature. She was awarded the President’s Employee of the Year Award for 1984.
From 1977 to 1982 Judy was a partner in the firm Agard/Elchin Design, which produced publications and slide shows for numerous colleges, universities, and institutions in the Philadelphia area. She was design consultant with Wren Associates, Princeton, New Jersey, designing marketing materials and multi-projector slide shows for clients such as AT&T, ITT, and Dupont. From 1975 to 1977 Judy was graphic designer for Murphy Levy Wurman, Architects and Urban Planners. She was project manager for design and production of site-specific outdoor panels describing historical buildings in the city of Philadelphia, project manager for design and production of three-dimensional maps for the blind located at the Philadelphia Visitor’s Center, and she also designed a variety of promotional materials for the 1976 Bicentennial Celebration.
