As consulting director, Bell oversees the USGA's Grants and Fellowship Programs to ensure they are operating according to their founding goals. She serves as a resource of information, experience and ultimately a facilitator of action due to her vast experience in the golf world, the non-profit arena and specifically within the USGA.
An accomplished amateur golfer, she began playing at age 7 and has since amassed an impressive collection of awards and championships. Bell also has been a part of four Curtis Cup teams, as a player in 1960 and 1962, and as captain in 1986 and 1988. Additionally, she captained the victorious 1998 U.S. Women's World Amateur Team and the 2000 U.S. Men's World Amateur Team. In 2001, Bell was awarded the PGA First Lady of Golf Award and was inducted into the Colorado Springs Sports and World Golf Halls of Fame.
