Judith W. (Judy) Northup retired from Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. in March 2006. During her twenty-six year career at Vought , which began as an entry-level accountant, she was able to work in many departments of the company. She rose through the ranks in Finance and Materials before becoming Director of Manufacturing Controls in 1992, where she was responsible for managing shop workloads, industrial engineering, operations cost control and other support functions to manufacturing.
In February 1997, when Northrop Grumman owned Vought, Judy was named Vice President Materiel; and had responsibility for all procured products for the company. She continued to hold this position when Northrop Grumman sold its Aerostructures group in 2000 and the company once again carried the name Vought Aircraft. In 2002, Judy was named Vice President Human Resources and Administration for Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc.; and in 2004 she was named Chief Administrative Officer for the company. As Chief Administrative Officer, Judy was responsible for Human Resources, Materiel, Communications and Government Relations.
During her tenure at Vought, Judy was active in the Aerospace Industries Association, first as Co-Chair and then Chair of their Supplier Management Council between 2000 and 2003. Her knowledge and influence within the aerospace supplier network led to her appointment to the Exostar Board of Directors in July 2004. In May 2006, Judy was named to the Board of Directors of LMI Aerospace, Inc., a leading supplier of quality components to the aerospace and technology industries.
Judy has a Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master of Business Administration degree in Contract Acquisition and Management from the University of Dallas. She was a 1994 graduate of Leadership Texas, an executive education program of the Foundation for Women’s Resources. |
