Judy Anderson is Senior Vice President of Charitable Giving for Georgia Power. She also serves as President and CEO of the Georgia Power Foundation, Inc. and President of the Southern Company Charitable Foundation, Inc. Anderson joined Southern Company in 1981 as a Senior Contract Analyst for Southern Company Services. During her career, Anderson has held many positions of increasing responsibility. She became Assistant Corporate Secretary for Southern Company Services in 1983 and Corporate Secretary for Georgia Power in 1986. Anderson was named Vice President and Corporate Secretary for Georgia Power in 1989 and became Senior Vice President in 2001. Active in the community, Anderson is on the board of directors for the Woodruff Arts Center, the International Women’s Forum Georgia Chapter, the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the Georgia National Guard Family Support Foundation and the Board of Director’s Network. In the past, she has also served on the board of directors for numerous other organizations, including Fernbank, Inc., Camp Best Friends, the Alliance Theatre Company, YWCA of Greater Atlanta, Atlanta Urban League, Leadership Atlanta, Morehouse School of Medicine, Junior Achievement of Georgia, Piedmont Park Conservancy, Georgia Executive Women’s Network, Georgia Housing and Finance Authority, and the Fulton County Arts Council. Anderson is a graduate of Troy State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She earned her law degree from the Atlanta Law School and has completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Development Program.
